In Patient Pharmacist

Job position: Pharmacist (Inpatient)

Pay rate: $60 to 65/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to inpatient units.
• Review, verify, and dispense medication orders in accordance with hospital and regulatory policies.
• Participate in patient care rounds and offer evidence-based clinical recommendations.
• Manage and monitor medication therapies, including antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation, pain management, and chronic disease management.
• Utilize EPIC for clinical documentation, order verification, and medication profile review.
• Oversee and troubleshoot Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.
• Conduct medication reconciliation and patient counseling as needed.
• Support quality improvement initiatives involving medication safety and clinical protocols.
• Precept pharmacy students/residents if applicable.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy required.
• Active and unrestricted state pharmacist license.
• Hospital or inpatient pharmacy experience required.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record and Pyxis automated dispensing systems required.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, medication safety, and clinical guidelines.
• Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: PGY-1/PGY-2 residency, Board Certification (BCPS, BCIDP, etc.), experience in high-acuity settings (ICU, ED, oncology, etc.).
